Masterpiece coyote by the Sosa family. This beautiful and large piece was hand carved out of copal wood sourced in the fields surrounding the town of San Martin Tilcajete which is the hub for top wood carving families in Oaxaca. The technique that does into carving is passed down through generations which master the use of rustic tools such as machetes and chisels to achieve the works of art we know as alebrijes as well as "tonas" & "nahuales". The perfect proportions, the expressiveness, and vibrant colors make this an exceptional wood carving.
