Elegant dog alebrije wood carving handcrafted out of localy and sustainably sourced copal wood by the Sosa family workshop in San Martin Tilcajete, Oaxaca Mexico. Alebrijes are made from the wood of the copal tree which is native to the forests of Oaxaca. This tree produces a soft & fragrant wood that is ideal for carving. The painting was expertly done with Zapotec patterns incorporated with the Sosa signature style.
