Supporting Artisans Beyond the Sale
Most of the proceeds from each sale go directly to the artisans, after covering the necessary costs of logistics, packaging, and rent. This ensures that they are fairly compensated for their hard work. But our partnership goes deeper than just selling their products. We work closely with these artisans, offering coaching, workshops, and capital advances to help them grow their businesses. Some artisans who once produced 10 pieces per week can now create 100, thanks to our support in streamlining production and investing in better equipment.
Breaking Free from Price Wars
Many of the artisans we work with come from small towns with populations of just 2,000 to 30,000 people. Before partnering with us, they often sold their crafts on the side of the highway, competing with neighbors in a race to the bottom on prices. This wasn’t sustainable for them or their communities. At CEMCUI, we help them reach a broader market, allowing them to focus on the quality of their work rather than undercutting prices. This opens new opportunities for them and prevents the destructive price wars within their own towns.
