Exceptional iguana by the Hernandez family workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico. Very well carved out of copal wood and painted with fine detail. The patterns on the back are from the ancient Zapotec culture which is very engrained in the culture of Oaxaca and is the inspiration of many artists in the region.
