Majestic eagle alebrije wood carving by the Melchor family at their workshop in Oaxaca, Mexico. This masterpiece was carved and painted over a span of 6 months and is of the highest quality wood carvings made in all of Oaxaca. Every square inch of this piece was painted with the finest of detail. Even the inside part of the wings were meticulously decorated with traditional Zapotec patterns which have a great presence in Oaxacan art due to the many ancient ruins found throughout the region. An exceptional work of art made by some of the most talented artists in Mexico.
